The large folding weaving loom is made of wood and natural-colored plywood, and is designed for weaving macramé, kilims, tapestries and other decorative fabrics. The loom is available on its own or with a set of weaving accessories.
Our weaving loom is an ideal solution for those who have already had their first macaw and want to replace their weaving frame with a larger model. The loom has a very simple structure, so even beginners who have never had any experience with weaving can handle it. On this loom you can weave wall hangings, kilims, mug coasters, pillows or artistic fabrics and small tapestries.
Our loom is equipped with a rotary bar which alternately lifts warp threads and the cuts for warp were made at 5 mm (0,2 inch) intervals. All those properties let you to weave in a faster and more pleasant way and also ease the process of warping. The cuts on the loom are quite wide, so you can use both thin and thick warps. The loom is foldable and its frame is made of wood. All slat with cuts are made of laser-cut plywood – this makes them more durable, and in the future we anticipate the possibility of purchasing slats with a different density of cuts. The loom has an adjustable warp length. With it, you can weave both a larger fabric measuring 40×40 cm and small mug coasters measuring 10×10 cm. You can also use our online course and weave kilims even several times larger than the working area of the loom using this loom!
You can place the rotating warp thread lifting bar in seven positions on the loom, so its use is very convenient both at the beginning of weaving and at the end of work.
To avoid damage in transit, the loom is shipped disassembled and requires self-assembly at home.
You can fold and unfold the weaving loom at any time, so it is also perfect for traveling.
Depending on the selected variant, the set includes:– a weaving loom with external dimensions of 47 x 85 cm (maximum working space of 40 x 70 cm), made of wood and wooden plywood; instructions in PDF format;
– a set of weaving accessories made of plywood: two weaving shuttles (42 cm and 32 cm long); two weaving needles (14 cm and 20 cm long); a 10×5.5 cm comb;
In the manual, we show step by step how to assemble and warp the loom, how to start weaving and what to do when you suddenly run out of thread. You will also learn how to make diagonal lines and geometric patterns, and how to remove the weaving from the loom and prepare it to hang on the wall.
The set does not contain yarns for weaving or warp. All the necessary yarns can be found in our online store. As warp we recommend our cotton strings.
To make a 40 cm warp you will need about 120 g of cotton, which is a little over one spool.
For weaving on the loom, our colorful yarns are perfect for weaving on a loom. To make a 40×40 cm fabric you need 200-250 grams of wool (4-5 skeins).
