Cotton thread for weaving and macrame

made of 100% certified cotton

weight: 100 g (3.56 oz)

thread length in one cone: 50 meters (54.7 yd)

thickness: 2 mm

single twisted – 1 PLY

1-PLY thread made of certified cotton, weighing 100 g. This is a very strong and durable thread, which is ideal for preparing the warp on floor looms and all types of weaving frames. Cotton string can be successfully used for weaving carpets, wall decorations, wall hangings, kilims and tapestries, but it is also great for weaving macramé yourself: bracelets, macramé wall hangings, key rings, yoga mat holders, cup coasters and much more.

Our string is very durable, so it will definitely not break while working on a loom or while weaving macramé. It will withstand even heavier loads. The threads are available in many different shades – from delicate pastels to dark, deeply saturated colors. It is made in Poland and consists of 100% certified cotton yarn with the OEKO-TEX® quality mark. This means that the product is environmentally friendly and safe for health (also hypoallergenic!).

If you intend to use our cotton threads as a warp for weaving on looms, remember that the notches in the frame should be at least 1.5 mm wide, otherwise the threads may not fit in them. This warp fits all looms and weaving frames available in the Tartaruga shop and is also used for weaving larger works in our studio and in the weaving workshops.

This string can also be successfully used as a weft in weaving.

Products made of our cotton thread can be gently dusted with a vacuum cleaner. In case of dirt, you can try to remove the stain by rubbing with a damp cloth. Stubborn stains can be removed in a way that is safe for the product by chemical cleaning. We do not recommend washing our products in a washing machine.

Our cotton string consists of several thin, twisted threads, which gives it exceptional resistance to stretching and tearing.

Please note that colours may vary slightly due to screen settings.
